SILENT AUCTION EXHIBTION @ ASSOCIATES GALLERY
Hard to explain….but in early 2007 I had a 12-hour exhibtion at Associates Gallery in London. From my home and office in New York I sent hourly updates via email and fax about the items I was offering for sale, which ranged from performances and commissioned portrait films to belated birthday cards and the unique opportunity to buy me lunch.
Bids were accepted in person, by phone and via email. Certain items offered for sale were simulated by the gallery attendants, who were also acting as my sales agents. A one-way web cam was set up so that I could see what the staff was doing and so that I could give directions. A few items sold.
